Both Bull A and Horse and Groom A completed doubles as the Holbeach and District Darts League enjoyed a thrilling finals night.
Second-tier winners Bull A and Division Three champions Groom added cups to their coffers, while Tigers SC A upset the odds to deny New Saracen’s Head C the Florida Cup.
Division One champs Saracen’s did deliver the Canham Cup though, making it a double of sorts at the Tigers Social Club bash.
They lost the big game of the night, with top flight runners-up Tigers 11-9 winners in the Florida final. It went right down to the wire, but wins from Charlie Bond and Dave Piccaver delivered the trophy.
It was close in the Skelton Cup final too, with Division Two kings Bull just edging out Golden Lion 9-8. Wins from Shaun Biggs, Alex Gostic and Michael Walls did the trick.
The Charlie Portass Shield final pitted Horse and Groom A against a Crown and Mitre side that finished some ten points behind them in the table.
It was far from a one-sided final, but Groom roared to a 10-7 triumph with Ivan Horspool, Phil Horspool, Richard Brooks and Andrew Horspool all winning to get the job done.
The five-a-side Canham Cup final showcased a dominant display from NSH C, as Mark Horspool, Duncan Hunt, Phil Povey, Simon Hill and Pete Richardson all victorious to crush Sutton Bridge RBL 5-0.
In the individual stakes, Legion B’s Dawn MacTavish lifted the Ladies’ Cup after seeing off Lindsey Wingell (NSH A) 2-1.
It was an all-Saracen’s C final in the Division One Singles, with ace thrower Hunt edging out team-mate Simon Hill 2-1.
The Division Two Singles final was a top tussle, with Alex Gostic (Bull A) nailing a 180 and Nick Horspool (Legion B) enjoying an 18-dart leg. In the end Gostic took the spoils, again by a 2-1 scoreline.
It was 2-1 in the Division Three Singles finale too, with Chris Chamberlain (Black Lion) squeezing past Jamie Horspool (Horse and Groom A).
The Gilder Pairs served up no surprises, with deadly NSH C duo Mark Horspool and Hunt 2-0 winners over team-mates Hill and Richardson.
It was 2-0 in the other pairs finals, too. Wayne Merrison and Kevin Newton (Legion A) beat Biggs and Walls of Bull A in the second tier showpiece, while Dave Henderson and Brooks (Horse and Groom A) beat Chamberlain and Neil Grant (Black Lion) to the Division Three crown.
