BOWLS: Spalding Town women at nationals

Three Spalding Town players are gearing up to represent the county in a national event.

Talented trio Maxine Coleman, Betty Deaton and Sylvia Wade will be bowling for Lincolnshire in the three wood triples at the Women’s National Championships at Leamington Spa in August.

Their first game will be against Durham on August 5.

• Spalding Town’s annual Dick Campbell competition attracted 20 teams, with Graham Chappell and I MacFarlane (30 pts) the winners. Runners up were I Bertram and M Elding, with Ken Cherry and D Bristow third after both teams scored 28 points.
