Spalding’s Jordan Philpott was part of the winning England team in the Under-25 Home International series in Newport last weekend.
Philpott was selected with Perry Martin (Swale) as the skip, Jack Bird (Scarborough) and Connor Cinato (Kingsthorpe).
First up were Ireland, with the rink winning 31-9, as England won 92-66.
England beat Wales 96-58 with Philpott’s rink losing 22-12 as a final day showdown with Scotland was to come.
England found themselves behind for much of the game before taking the lead with just two ends remaining.
Philpott’s rink lost 24-12 as England clinched the series with a 76-72 scoreline.
Spalding’s eighth game of the Over-60s County League season was at home against Scunthorpe.
Spalding held on to win on three rinks but Scunthorpe took the aggregate by seven shots for 12 points to six.
Best winning rink was skipped by Graham Hicks, with Allan Browne, Mike Taylor and Martin Hawkes.
