They broke a 17-17 deadlock with a four on the 17th end and were happy to drop a single on the 18th to beat Weymouth-based Moonfleet 2000.

But the Spalding team lost 19-8 to South Shields in the quarter-finals.

In the under-25 inter-county double rink final, Spalding’s Ben Wilson and Jordan Philpott represented Lincolnshire in the last-end defeat against Devon.

Despite a 20-15 win on their rink, Lincolnshire lost 34-31 overall to the holders who won the title for a fifth time.
