THE last remaining unbeaten record in Group B of the EBA Section Four Club Championship was shattered last week.

Bourne Town jumped to the top of the pile by trouncing Castle 10-0, ending their run of three wins on the spin.

J Pearson, P Tory, B Smith and G Mitchell led the Bourne charge, bossing their rink by an emphatic 25 shots to nine.

Just behind them in second are A15 rivals Deepings, who edged a tight tussle with Billingborough 6-4.

Although Deepings won on two of the three rinks, a massive 27-9 triumph from away quartet B Robinson, P Westley, G Chapman and D Westley levelled the scores up on aggregate (50-50) for Billingborough.

At the other end of the table, Spalding Town B secured their first win of the campaign.

G Biggs, L Smalley, M Taylor and C Stagles (19-9) starred in a 8-2 victory over Royal Mail Cart B, although they stay rooted to the bottom of the standings.

In Division A, Spalding Town A moved 11 points clear with a cracking 8-2 triumph at former leaders Moulton Harrox.

There wasn’t much to choose between the sides, making a 25-19 win from I Bertram, G Deaton, C Searson and W Phoenix pivotal to Town’s overall victory.

Carter’s Park are now second having crushed Consti 9-1.

Top rink of the day went to R Flowers, R Griffiths, G Palmer and J Forrest of the Holbeach side (21-10).

Meanwhile, Royal Mail Cart continue to go great guns in Triples Group A.

They racked up a fourth victory on the bounce by beating Moulton Harrox B 7-3. A cool 21-11 rink win from top trio C Simpson, B Wilson and A Browne was the highlight.

Another side on fine form at this level were Castle A. They swept Gosberton aside with a whirlwind 10-0 whitewash. Top scoring with 23 shots were R Rout, B Daff and P Lane.

In Triples A, Long Sutton have put a slow start behind them to move second. They saw off Billingborough 8-2.
