THREE Spalding and District League sides really kick-started their respective seasons with super 7-0 wins last week.
Gosberton A, Crowland B and Donington were the on-song trio – and they all climbed up the standings.
It was Crowland B who made the biggest jump, as their whitewash of Pyramid A propelled them up to fourth in the table, just one point off second spot.
Richard Wesley (R90) led from the front with breaks of 21 and 20, while Danny Rose (R90) and Paul Howard (R70) both chipped in with frame wins.
John Twell (R70) did make a 21 break for the beaten Bourne side, who slip from third to fifth.
Donington are level on points with them in sixth having dispatched Consti C pretty comfortably.
Jim Thompson (R30) starred with scores of 39 and 27, while Sid Shaw (O10) added offerings of 29, 24 and 21. Norman Gookey (R80) completed the rout.
It was slightly closer in Gosberton’s whitewash of Holbeach B.
David Haresign (R90), Andy Shephard (R120) and Tim Dennis (R110) all battled hard to seal maximum points, as Gosberton registered a first win since September 26.
Elsewhere, it was business at usual for unbeaten leaders Pyramid B as they stretched their lead at the summit to nine points.
They defeated Crowland A 5-2 to make a five wins from five, with Martin O’Connor (R40) pocketing a 22 break in the process. Maurice Phillipson took their other frame win.
Jason Bloomfield (R60) and Derek Tinkler (O30) trousered breaks of 21 and 27 respectively for Crowland, but it was Neil Burton (R90) that registered their sole frame victory.
Third-placed BSC are one of the top teams in the chasing pack – and they bounced back from the previous week’s whitewash with a 5-2 beating of Consti A.
Stewart Davies (R30) top scored with a 34 break for the high flyers, while John Bellerby (R80) helped wrap up the win. Robert Adams (R30) and Bob Adams (R30) made breaks of 24 and 21 in reply.
