IN a week that saw every game finish with a 5-2 scoreline, Pyramid B moved an imperious 16 points clear at the top of the Spalding and District League standings.
The Bourne side kept their 100 per cent record intact as they reeled off an eighth win on the spin.
Holbeach C were the latest side to incur their wrath, despite an inspired show from Hugh Pinner (O170). The veteran made breaks of 66, 46, 43 and 23, but wins from Maurice Phillipson (R90) and Martin O’Connor (R40) were enough for the leaders.
Elsewhere, third-placed BSC slipped to a defeat at Crowland B.
Alan Sharman (R80) made a 29 break for the hosts as both he and Richard Wesley (R90) picked up wins, with Stewart Davies’ (R30) scores of 34 and 24 in vain for BSC.
Consti A are up to fourth following their success on Gosberton’s baize.
Robert Adams (R30) trousered a 23 break for the away side, who saw Lindsay Porter (R40) clinch their five-point haul.
Meanwhile, Donington ended their two-game losing streaky by seeing off Pyramid A on home soil.
Neil Reynolds (R40) led the charge as he pocketed breaks of 29, 25, 22 and 20 in his frame win, while Jim Thompson (R30) sealed the triumph with a success that included a 22 break.
Holbeach B were the final winners of the week.
They edged out Crowland A in a close contest, with Chris Chamberlain (R90) notching a 25 break.
Jason Bloomfield (R80) bagged a 26 break to earn Crowland their two points, while Derek Tinkler (O30) added a 22 break.
