HOLBEACH and District Angling Club get their new season under way this Sunday.
The Coronation Shield match at Bells Bridge (7.15am draw) marks the start of a summer of fishing, followed by the Stimson Cup on June 22 (5.45pm, Little Holland Drain). Anybody interested in joining in is welcome to attend.
Club and committee members have been busy clearing out the main drain and Little Holland drain in preparation.
Little Holland holds good colour all the way through, with carp and bream the main target.
In the main drain, the usual hotspots are still looking good, with fish topping after spawning big bream. Also skimmers, tench and roach will make for big nets of fish.
Anglers are reminded not to keep fish in their nets for long.
They are also asked to take all of their litter home with them, after a number of complaints last season.
Day tickets will remain at the same price as last season.
