MATCH VERDICT: Nine-man Pinchbeck United pick up point

On a crazy night, Pinchbeck United simply refused to give up the unbeaten record.

The Knights picked up two red cards when it seemed that almost everything was going against them.

For the second successive game, they had a right to complain over a series of decisions.

Unfortunately, the referee's performance was again a major talking point.

Spalding youngster Simon Bell could have issued many more bookings in Tuesday night's derby battle.

He was given no choice when Pinchbeck's stand-in skipper Jack Smith foolishly showed dissent immediately after a yellow card for unsporting behaviour.

Fraser Bayliss - who moved from Boston Town this summer - was also dismissed for a second bookable offence in the closing stages.

Former Holbeach United midfielder Ollie Pinner made it 10 men against nine in stoppage time.

However, Pinchbeck's unbeaten run went to 30 games thanks to a second-half equaliser from Tom Sergeant.

They fell behind when ex-Deeping Rangers striker Scott Coupland slotted home at the far post - only seven minutes after Smith's moment of madness.

Alex Smith was a late change to the line-up after Ricky Lovelace suffered an injury during the warm-up.

But the keeper's debut featured a flying save from Cameron Johnson plus a right boot to divert Coupland's effort onto the inside of the post.

Six minutes into the second half, Sergeant drove forward and found the bottom corner of the net.

Andrew Tidswell's free-kick was pushed out but at the other end, Smith kept out Johnson twice then Duran Reynolds' header bounced off the bar close to the line.

Bayliss and Pinner were sent off near the end but Pinchbeck picked up a point in their first-ever Premier Divison away game.
