MATCH VERDICT AND PHOTO GALLERY: Holbeach United book semi-final spot thanks to Smith's double and Drury's saves

Ricky Drury's wonderful display sent Holbeach United into the semi-finals for the second successive season.

The keeper produced a series of saves as the Tigers secured home advantage against Knockout Cup holders Leicester Nirvana on March 13.

Billy Smith's double at the other end of the pitch made it six consecutive wins at Carter's Park.

An early effort was soon cancelled out - giving Drury no chance with a clinical finish - and Smith struck again just past the hour mark.

But the star man on Wednesday night was Drury who denied Wellingborough Town several times.

He made a brilliant challenge on Carlos Lewis just moments after Smith tapped home Will Bird's cross.

However, Holbeach did not learn the lesson as they got caught out again when Lewis took a perfect touch then found the far corner of the net.

Jake Gillingwater tried to catch out Drury with an audacious long-range effort and Drury stayed alert as Shaun Wilkes raced clear.

Josh Ford and Spencer Tinkler were denied by Doughboys number one Justin Greatorix before the break.

Despite having Ford's tap-in disallowed for offside, Holbeach needed to improve on the first-half performance.

Bird and Ford had attempts blocked but the lead was restored when they combined again for Smith to fire home via a deflection.

James Tricks almost made it 3-1 but immediately Drury's legs prevented an equaliser for Wilkes then the keeper used his left foot to deny the Wellingborough striker.

At the end of stoppage-time, Drury pushed the ball away from the top corner from Doughboys skipper Justin Dowling's free-kick and the next set-piece was cleared, followed by the final whistle.
