Knights in disappointing loss
United Counties League Premier Division
Pinchbeck United 0-5 Lutterworth Town
Lutterworth Town put Pinchbeck United to the sword with an emphatic 5-0 demolition of the Knights.
This was the Knight's tenth game of the season without victory, with a new look side in Lewis Thorogood's first game at the helm.
Thorogood came in and made changes instantly with six Reserve players making the jump up into the side.
Lutterworth began the game applying vigorous pressure to the Knights, and they really penned the Pinchbeck team into their own half.
Their first chance came only in the third minute when Abdul Sunmonu-Raheem hit the bar with a looping header from a corner kick.
Their first goal of the game coming just three minutes later as the ball was played to Chris Anastasi at the back post, he took the ball down and hit a shot, this was deflected into the path of Daire Tendai who tapped into an empty net.
In the 18th minute, Daniel Mason nearly put the ball into his own net as he tried to clear a cross, but it went just over the bar, but he made up for the just moments later when he stopped a one-on-one with a brilliant recovery tackle.
Pinchbeck, however, showed signs of life when Dan Parkinson robbed Warren Butlin of the ball in the Lutterworth goal, but unfortunately for him the ball ended up going out of play.
Just three minutes after this, Lutterworth doubled their lead, courtesy of another goal for Daire Tendai from the penalty spot.
Ben Martin rushed out trying to get the ball, and despite it looking like he got a bit of the ball, the referee pointed to the spot, and Tendai got his second of the game as he cooly dispatched into the bottom right corner.
The second half continued in the same vein as the first half, with constant pressure from the away side.
Daniel Aboyami, who was one of the Reserve players who made the step-up, was nearly at fault for a goal as he misjudged his header, but Tendai couldn't direct his volley goalwards.
But, in 56th minute, Tendai got his hat-trick after a good one-two on the edge of the box, with Anastasi played a brilliant reverse pass into the path of Tendai, who put his effort past Ben Martin.
It then took just five minutes before the visitors got their fourth, and this time it wasn't Tendai but instead Jack Brown who put it into his own net as he tried to get rid of the cross.
A rare chance for the Knights came in the way of Liam Mead, who tried to flick the ball into the back of the net after a good cross from Will Jackson.
The ball was gathered by the goalkeeper who set Tendai through on goal, who was thwarted by Martin to keep the score at 4-0.
With the last kick of the game, the Swifts made it 5-0 as an even better move left Keenan Marshall one-on-one with Martin and he thrashed the ball to Martin's left with an emphatic finish.
The result was a fair one on the basis of the game, as the Knights were outclassed against a top side.
