KARTING: Abbi on track for championship

Gosberton teenager Abbi Pulling won the final at round six of the Super One TKM British Championships last weekend.

Unfortunately, the Saturday races didn’t go so well with a DNF in heat one then eighth place after problems at the start.

Heat two saw difficult conditions and Pulling baulked at the first corner, dropping to 17th on lap one.

But a good drive back up to eighth saw her make the Final One grid position down in 17th.

Then in drying conditions, and with a perfect set-up, Pulling put in an awesome drive through the pack to finish second.

The final on Sunday took place in very wet conditions, but a last lap pass allowed Pulling to take the win.

Overall, it has made the title race a bit closer but Abbi is still leading and the chances of her retaining the championship are still alive.

It looks likely to be a nail-biter at PFI, near Grantham, on September 28, 29 and 30.
