Round-up of the action in the Peterborough Youth League's new cup competition
Holbeach United enjoyed a strong start to the return to action in the Peterborough Youth League’s new cup competitions on Sunday.
Four of the five Tigers teams were triumphant with only Spalding United Blue Under 15s denying Holbeach a clean sweep of victories.
The young Tulips ran out 7-0 winners against Holbeach Yellow thanks to goals from George Frost (2), Ben Greenace, Derrie Maxwell, Leland Dent, Billy Andrews and Mariyan Asyov.
Holbeach’s Under 15 Red team defeated their Bourne Town counterparts 3-1 courtesy of efforts from Harry Kelman (2) and Jack Baker. Max Goring netted for the Wakes.
Holbeach Black also netted three times in their victory over March Athletic at the same age group.
Callum Carr gave the Tigers a flying start with a first minute opener before Noah Marshall doubled the lead on the half-hour mark.
Carr added his second and Holbeach’s third before the break for the Black side who visit Bourne Town this weekend.
Holbeach United Yellow Under 16s were the Tigers’ biggest winners of the day after a 6-0 victory at Bourne Town Clarets while the Under 18s Black side were 5-1 victors over March Town United.
Elliot Foster fired a hat-trick for the Tigers with Josh Ling and Tyler Floyd also netting.
Deeping Rangers Under 15s and Thurlby Tigers shared the spoils after a 2-2 draw at Outgang Road.
Beau Baines bagged a brace for the Clarets with Ollie Grice and William Hartley on target for the Tigers.
Deeping Rangers Under 16s hit near neighbours Bourne Town Red for six as Kristian Gagyi led their scoring spree with a hat-trick.
Daniel Tarver also bagged a brace while Finlay Adkins-Krijgsman was their other marksman in a 6-2 success for Deeping.
Pinchbeck United Sports Under 16s were 4-3 winners against Stamford Young Daniels Red.
Louis Armstrong, Kian Weetman, Ashton Shirley and Oliver Smith were the match-winners for Sports.
Moulton Harrox Blue made a good start to the Under 18s competition with a 5-1 away success at Colsterworth Colts.
Alfie Woodward, Joshua Latter, Luke Hood, Boston Cash and Max Tompsett were the goalscorers for Harrox.
Bourne Town Red and Deeping United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in the same group.
Tom Cameron was on target for the Wakes with Josh Raven replying for United.
Goals from Luis Cook and Jordan Duffy helped Pinchbeck United Sports Under 18s to a 2-0 home win over Sawtry Colts while Bourne Town Claret went down to a 5-0 loss against visiting Stamford Young Daniels Yellow.
