Round-up of the cup action in the Peterborough Junior Alliance




Hard work paid off for Long Sutton Under 13s on Sunday when they ended their long wait for a victory.

The young Magpies have been testing themselves in a more competitive league which had seen them go nearly a year without a win.

But they tasted that winning feeling on Sunday with a 5-3 success against Parkside Athletic Yellow in the Hereward Cup clash at London Road.

Lewis Horne hit two of their goals with James Freeman, Aaron Wright and Travis Stanberry also on target.

The victory leaves them in fourth place in the six-team Group C which is topped by Bourne Town Red who ran 8-0 winners against Thurlby Tigers Black on Sunday.

The prolific Zak Coles hit a hat-trick for the Wakes with Georbin Biloy-Puthenpurayil, Jack Clayton, Johnny Cottage, Joshua Healey and Owen Higgins their other marksmen.

Pinchbeck United Sports suffered their first defeat in the same group after a 3-2 home reversal against Thorpe Wood Rangers Red. Brandon Elderkin and Kaylum Paddock were their goalscorers.

Holbeach United Yellow got their first win in Group B after a 6-3 home victory over Thorpe Wood Rangers Blue.

Marshall Mujere hit a hat-trick for the Tigers with Ava Smith, Thomas Oliver and Toby Peacher completing their haul.

Thomas King and Aleksander Milczak were on target for Pinchbeck United in their 2-2 draw with March Academy Blue who then won 4-2 on penalties to take the points.

Deeping United Blue remain unbeaten at the top of Group A after a 5-1 away success at Stanground Purple.

Harvey Wilkes struck twice for United with Joshua Lang, Reece Roberts and Kian Jackson also netting.

Thurlby Tigers Orange are still seeking their first group points after a 7-4 home loss to Orton Rangers Blue. Coby McCarthy and Leo Vonhof both scored twice.

Bourne Town Claret were 5-1 derby winners over Deeping Rangers Claret in their Under 13 League Cup meeting.

Lewis Smith struck twice for the Wakes with Benjamin Decamp, Oliver Lockton and Matthew Sewell also scoring. Rhys Morgan-Plowright replied for Rangers.

There was also derby delight for Holbeach United Black in Group B as they sunk Spalding United Blue 4-0 thanks to goals from Oakley-Jack Williams (2), Theo Maxwell-Rutty and Matthew Tagerdine.

Holbeach United Yellow were edged out 3-1 in their trip to Peterborough Northern Star White in the Under 12 League Cup. Louie Smith scored their goal.

Deeping Rangers Blue lost narrowly 1-0 at home to Glinton & Northborough Amber in Group B while Bourne Town Red were beaten 4-2 by Stamford Young Daniels Red. Finn-Lee Markey and Kallum Whitbread netted for the Wakes.

Crowland Juniors are top of Group C after taking the points following a penalty shoot-out win over Stamford Young Daniels Yellow.

The match had finished 1-1 with Austin Hastings hitting the home goal before Crowland triumphed 5-4 on spot kicks.

Spalding United Yellow are up to second in Group B of the Under 12 Hereward Cup after a 4-3 home success over Sporting Blue.

Shay Slayven struck twice for the Tulips with Charlie Phillips and Leon Allen also on target.

Sutterton-based British School of Sports suffered their first Group C defeat after a 4-2 home loss to Netherton United Eagles. McKenzie Garwell and Benas Orsevskis netted their goals.

Thurlby Tigers and Park Farm Pumas Black played out a 1-1 draw in the same section with Oliver Fowkes scoring for the hosts who were then beaten 4-2 on penalties.

Deeping Rangers Blue were just edged out 3-2 in their Under 14 League Cup tie at Peterborough Northern Star Red with Jack Carson and Max Olbromski their goalscorers.

Luke Hallabrin, Callum Jones and Noah Pawlett scored the marksmen for Deeping United Red in their 5-3 home defeat against Park Farm Pumas Red in the Under 14 Hereward Cup.

Jothen Parker pocketed a hat-trick as Bourne Town Claret hit Stamford Young Daniels Yellows for six in Group C. Henry Canning, Joseph D'Angelo and Tyler Morris also netted.

Pinchbeck United Sports went down to a 5-0 away reversal at Glinton & Northborough Navy.
