Big win for Moulton




Moulton Harrox enjoyed an impressive 105 run victory at home to Freiston on Saturday.

After winning the toss in this Division 1 East game, Harrox elected to bat and were soon piling on the runs. Openers, captain Chris Beale and Joseph Broomfield, hit 55 and 24 respectively, and Josh Newton hit an impressive 77, with eight fours.

Lewis Martin scored 16 as Harrox registered 208 for seven from 40 overs.

In reply, the visitors never looked likely of getting their target, with Jack Barnett returning impressive bowling figures of 4-7 from 4.2 overs. Louis Greetham took 2-24, Nohman Jarral 2-33 and Lawrence Rayner 1-23 as Freiston were dismissed for 103 from 30.2 overs.

In the same division, a good bowling performance saw Long Sutton beat Woodhall Spa by 41 runs at Paradise Field on Saturday.

The visitors won the toss and put Sutton into bat, which looked a good decision when opener Chris Booth was caught after scoring seven runs.

However, fellow opener Rajan Sangha hit eight fours in his 53, Josh Baker hit 30, Dan Oldfield and Jimmy Harrison both scored 17, Barry Stanway got 14 and Angus Bell 19 not out as Long Sutton made 166-7 from their 40 overs.

In reply, Spa were dismissed for 125 in 33.2 overs.

In Division 1 West, Billingborough went down by 70 runs in a high-scoring game at Newborough.

After electing to bat, the home team hit an impressive 266-6, with Chris King the best of the visiting bowlers, taking 3-48 from his ten overs. Jed Humphries, Dylan Garfoot and Shaun Brown got a wicket each.

In reply, Billingborough got off to a decent start, putting on 53 for the first wicket, before Chris King was run out after scoring 35.

Fellow opener Garfoot hit 19 and there were decent knocks from wicket keeper Paul Goodwin (39), Mikey Atkinson (25) and Brown 23, with Humphries scoring 10, as Billingborough were bowled out for 196 off 33.3 overs.

Visitors Bourne 2nd thrashed Spalding 2nd by 162 runs in the same division. Bourne decided to bat and amassed 207 all out from 39 overs.

Top scorer was Freddie Arlott with an undefeated 46, Sean Patchett hit 39, Kurt Storey 34, Tom Patchett 20 and Thomas Hames 12.

Tim Bosco, Jack Sawyer and Mohammad Alam took two wickets each for Spalding, with a wicket each for Macey Andrews and James Laud.

Spalding never got going as a batting force and were dismissed for a meagre 45 from 16 overs,Laud (17) the only batsmen to reach double figures.

Henry Brewster (3-16), Adam Hilless (3-17), Arlott (2-2) and Tom Patchett (2-8) took the wickets.

In Division 2 East, Moulton Harrox 2nd won by 95 runs at Feiston 2nd on Sunday.

Harrox were put into bat and scored 140 all out from 36.4 overs, opener Danny Jackson hitting 68, including 12 fours. Stephen Coles scored 26 and Curtis Todd 18.

In reply, Freiston were skittled out for 45 from 20.2 overs, with Stephen Coles taking an impressive 5-21 from 10 overs. At the other end, Todd took 2-1, Carl Lamming 2-17 and Tom Richardson-Woodward 1-0.

In Division 2 West, Newborough made it a double over Billingborough, beating them by 10 wickets in the 2nd team fixture.

Billingborough decided to bat but were all out for 63, with the visitors knocking off the winning runs in just 12 overs.

Baston enjoyed a 158 run win at Uffington in Inter 1 Division. After electing to bat, the visitors scored 272 for the loss of just three wickets from their 40 overs.

Openers Andy Keen and Anthony Morris put on 149 for the first wicket, before Keen was out LBW for 69. Morris was also trapped LBW for 77, but captain Ben Hudson scored 52 and wicket keeper was Liam Davies 53 not out.

In reply, Uffington were all out for 143 off 22.5 overs. Andy Burrill led the way with 4-4 off three overs, David Conlon took 3-15, Rowan Good-Loan 2-13 and Evan Donaldson 1-0.
