WAKES: Free-scoring Kilbride earns Bourne draw

BURTON PARK WANDERERS 2 (Taylor-Jacob 60, Charles 71) BOURNE TOWN 2 (Kilbride 25 & 45): A DEADLY double from red-hot Jason Kilbride failed to earn the Wakes a second UCL Division One win on the spin.

Kilbride, who is an England futsal international, notched a sensational overhead kick and a wind-assisted free-kick to put Bourne 2-0 up at the break and make it seven goals in six games.

But a Curtis Taylor-Jacob strike and a scorching 40-yard Duncan Charles hauled the hosts level with an ample wind behind their backs.

Kilbride had a late chance to win it, but his header went wide and the spoils were shared.

Bourne player/boss Darren Munton said: “It was a game of two halves due to the wind and I’m happy with a point out of it. Jason is having a really good run.”

Wakes: Gilson, Currall, Cardall, Smith, Jesson, D Mason, Hood (Dunn), Moss (Lambie), Kilbride, J Mason (Brockbank), Spearink.

Friday: Harborough v Wakes (7.45pm).
