A Wembley cup winner will be training with Spalding United tonight.

Midfielder Stefan Oakes won the League Cup with Leicester City in 2000.

The ex-pro, who is 34 today, last played for Tamworth and could sign straight away if both parties are happy.

Midfielder Dan Cotton has joined from Soham Town Rangers and is in the squad for the trip to Irchester United on Saturday.

Midfielder Scott Musgrove and defender Glen Fuff were injured in Tuesday’s 5-1 league win over Sleaford Town and miss the trip to Northamptonshire.

Meanwhile, Rayment has targeted Wisbech Town centre-half Paul Cousins as the player to shore up his leaky defence.

A seven-day notice was lodged with the Fenmen on Tuesday.

Cousins formerly played for King’s Lynn Town in the UCL.
