TULIPS: Spalding target end to away woes

Have your say

Desborough Town v Spalding United (Saturday, 3pm): PAT Rayment has challenged Spalding United to sort out their “awful” away form against the UCL Premier Division’s basement boys.

The Tulips have only picked up 11 points from 17 games on the road, winning just twice.

New boss Rayment is also down to the bare bones for the trip to Waterworks Field, with Danny Hussey (foot) out for the season and Ryan O’Loughlin considering a move to Leek Town.

Spalding have also missed out on Miles Chamberlain, who has joined Skegness United from Stamford – although Rayment plans to make another move for the defender in the summer.

The Tulips boss said: “Looking at the away form, it’s been awful to say the least. Desborough are at the bottom, but we’ve got to go there with the right mentality.

“I’ve seen two good performances and two bad ones so far. I can only do so much, the lads need to apply themselves once they cross that white line.”
