Northampton Spencer 1 Holbeach Utd 1: LEE Orrey struck 15 minutes from time to earn the Tigers a potentially crucial point on Saturday.
The Holbeach hitman cancelled out Phil Cassidy’s early free kick to move his side three points clear of the UCL Premier Division drop zone.
Despite seeing his side secure a handy share of the spoils, Tigers boss John Chand feels his side have been short-changed in the last two games.
He said: “To pick up just one point from Desborough away (4-3 loss) and this game is a bit harsh on us.
“We should have taken six points and that’d have us well clear of the bottom. We created so many good chances in both games.
“But I have to praise the lads, we came back well and looked much better at the back.”
Wes Lewis and Phil Newton both went close early on at a boggy Kingsthorpe Mill, before Cassidy’s strike eluded Sam Cole.
Holbeach didn’t let their heads drop though, as Barrett Steward shot over and Mitch Griffths – playing at right back – fired narrowly wide.
It was all one way traffic after the interval too, with Steward again shooting over and Matt Warfield seeing an effort saved.
However, it was nearly all over when Jake Gillingwater nodded a golden chance wide for Spencer on the hour.
This seemed to buoy the Tigers, who finally got their reward in the closing stages.
Orrey made good progress down the right and fired home a sensational leveller. Jonny Allen almost snatched a late winner, but he headed over.
Tigers: Cole, Griffiths, Warfield, Baker, Thompson, Allen, Smith (Joof 53), Lewis, Newton (Broom 72), Orrey, Steward (Keeble 84). Not used: Courtley, Bishop.
