SIMON Mowbray is being backed to bring some festive cheer to Holbeach United after agreeing a loan switch from Stamford.
The free-scoring striker, who boasts five goals in two games against former club Spalding United this season, will join the Tigers for a month as he bids to get back to full fitness.
Tigers boss John Chand is a huge fan of the hitman, having worked with him in his trophy-laden stint as Magnet Tavern manager.
Weather permitting, Mowbray will make his Holbeach bow in Monday’s high-profile Carter’s Park derby with King’s Lynn Town.
And Chand feels he will bring the cutting-edge his side have lacked in their stuttering campaign to date.
He said: “Simon’s a player I have a huge amount of admiration for.
“I’d have loved to sign him in the summer, he’s got a great attitude and has goals in him.
“He’s a proven scorer of goals at one step higher than us, so having him will really benefit the team.”
