Spalding United were held to a goalless draw at Goole on Tuesday night, taking home another point in the race for a play-off place.

The Tulips won 4-1 at home to the same opponents on Saturday but they couldn’t find a way through this time.

The result keeps Pat Rayment’s side in fifth place in the Evo-Stik League First Division South table.

At the weekend Spalding head to second-placed Newcastle Town who are eight points ahead having played three more games.

Bourne Town recorded a fourth successive win in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League’s Division One by beating Thrapston Town 4-1 at Abbey Lawn.

The Wakes went 2-0 up before the break through Henry Dunn and Josh Hales but Jack Wisniewski pulled one back for the Northamptonshire side.

Hales’ second goal of the night kept Bourne in control and the victory was sealed by Harley Williams.
