Striker James Tricks has joined Spalding United ahead of Saturday’s trip to basement boys Tividale.
The Tulips have been looking to boost their firepower following the departures of prolific forward Jake Newman to Stamford and top scorer Josh Moreman to Peterborough Sports.
Tricks played for Daventry Town earlier this season in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South.
The former Kettering Town forward was named as Daventry’s man of the match when they lost 1-0 at home to Spalding in September as Newman scored on his debut.
More recently Tricks had failed to score in seven appearances for Wellingborough Town in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division.
He looks set to make his Spalding debut when they go in search of their first away win in three months.
The Tulips have not picked up maximum points on their travels since a 3-0 victory at Leek Town when Marcus Ebdon was still in caretaker charge following the departure of boss Pat Rayment in November.
Spalding are odds-on favourites to return from the West Midlands with three points and stay in the promotion play-off pack as Tividale are 11 points from safety. They lost 2-1 at the Sir Halley Stewart Field in August.
