Holbeach United are close to completing next season’s squad – two months before the big kick-off.
Manager Darren Jarvis is expecting the Tigers to add a couple of new signings over the next week.
That would give them a two-week break before the start of pre-season training.
Jarvis said: “With one or two players coming in, we should be ready.
“Any manager would like to have the squad together before pre-season starts so you can just concentrate on fitness, shape, team work and patterns of play.
“Previously at other clubs it has been so much harder for me to attract the quality of players at this stage.
“So I’m really pleased now to have a settled squad almost there.”
The latest deal to be done at Carter’s Park saw the return of striker Tommy Treacher who had a prolific partnership last season with Josh Ford at Wisbech Town.
They have both agreed to move to Holbeach, having also been instrumental in Tigers assistant-boss Tom Roberts’ quadruple-winning Sunday side at Pinchbeck United.
Jarvis added: “You know with Tommy that you will always get unbelievable work-rate, commitment and desire – all things that you love as a manager.
“Last season he added that amount of goals to his game as he had previously created space and opportunities for others.
“I’m really pleased to have him back and I’m sure our supporters will be delighted as well.
“Tommy is keen to hit the ground running and make an instant impact.
“I’ve tried to sign him on previous occasions and this is a great deal all round.
“We’re looking in good shape up front with Tommy, Josh, Andrew Tidswell and Charley Sanders as well as the option of pushing Gary King further forward.
“We should have a solid base with the back four and I’m a great believer in clean sheets.
“But goals win games and titles so we need to get it right at both ends of the pitch.”
