Tuncay Korkmaz was proud of the performance but “very disappointed” by the result as Deeping Rangers were knocked out of the FA Vase.
He felt the players stuck to the pre-match message of giving 100 per cent and having no regrets at the final whistle over their efforts.
Korkmaz said: “Football is a funny game sometimes. To sum up I’d say the better side lost on the day.
“It took us 20 minutes to get into the game but we finished the first half stronger and then we took ownership all over the pitch.
“The second half was the best we’ve played for 45 minutes this season.
“We asked questions and created chances.
“But I have to give credit to the opposition as well. They played to their aerial strengths, particularly with the second goal.
“Our lads can take a lot of confidence from the way they played against a physical side if they carry on with the right habits.”
