Spalding United manager
Pat Rayment has moved to sort out his stuttering strikeforce by signing Peterborough Northern Star hitman Avelino Vieira.

The Portuguese forward, who scored 15 goals for Star this season, started for the Tulips in their goalless draw at Stafford Rangers on Saturday when he was replaced by Tom Waumsley in the second half.

Rayment said: “Vieira showed glimpses of what he can do but he’s got to get back in his stride.

“From my whole time at the football club, the forward
position has been a problem and I don’t know whether it’s a hoodoo thing at Spalding.”
