Tom Roberts admits Holbeach United must perform better - despite booking their place in the UCL Knockout Cup semi-finals next week.

Chris Ward’s 30th-minute goal was enough to beat Boston Town at Carter’s Park and set up another home tie against Wisbech Town next Wednesday.

Tigers boss Roberts said: “We got the job done but it wasn’t pretty and the result is all that matters.

“We have played better than that and lost games this season.

“We won the game and another bonus is a clean sheet. It makes a difference having Stacy Cartwright and Rick Drury back in the side.

“We’ve got a busy period but we’ll just take it game by game.

We know that we will have to raise our game.

“Everyone knows each other at Holbeach and Wisbech but next we’ve got to deal with Saturday’s league game at home to Cogenhoe United.

“We won 5-1 there just a couple of weeks ago so they will be looking for a bit of revenge to level things up.

“We know that we will have to raise our game.”

Jamie Stevens and Aaron Eyett are due to be back in Holbeach’s squad this weekend.

The Knockout Cup semi-final means Holbeach’s home league game against Leicester Nirvana has been switched to April 20.

They will be away to Huntingdon Town on April 7 and Nirvana three weeks later for another Thursday fixture.
