DEEPING RANGERS 6 (Moreman 4, 15 & 28, M Jones 9 & 38, Cox 85) KEMPSTON ROVERS 1 (Draycott 11): RED-HOT Deeping stormed to the most eye-catching win of the day in the UCL Premier Division on Saturday.
Josh Moreman plundered a hat-trick in 24 first-half minutes, while Mark Jones (2) and George Cox also found the back of the net at Outgang Road.
Jones was even afforded the luxury of missing a penalty to complete a treble of his own, as Tuncay Korkmaz’s men battered a side that have already claimed the scalps of Spalding United and Holbeach United this season.
Player/boss Korkmaz said: “I think the early goals were crucial. We know Kempston are a good side, but we broke their resolve and played some great offensive football.
“On another day the result may have been different, but that’s football.
“You only have to look at Kempston’s record to see they are a useful outfit. They’ve beaten good sides like Holbeach and Spalding which makes this result a very pleasing one indeed.”
Deeping now turn their attention to their FA Cup tie against New Mills this weekend. The winners will bank a bumper four-figure pay day.
Deeping: Doughty, Evans, Jackson, K Jones, Tinkler, Weston, M Jones, Gilbert, Oliver (Battersby), Heron (Burton-Jones), Moreman (Cox).
• Saturday – Deeping v New Mills (FA Cup, 3pm).
