Manager Pat Rayment was pleased to see Spalding United take their unbeaten league run to 12 games.
They saw off Carlton Town 3-0 at the Sir Halley Stewart Field on New Year’s Day with goals from Andrew Tidswell (2) and Jamie Thurlbourne (penalty).
Rayment said: “We never looked in any danger and they didn’t look like scoring.
“I’m pleased with the win. I was able to rotate the squad and freshen things up but we looked very strong throughout the game.
“I don’t think Gresley will be looking forward to us coming to play them on Saturday.
“We’ve got the momentum and we just need to keep the run going.
“It wasn’t pretty to watch against Carlton because of the wind but we got a lot of the ball and they were chasing us all game.
“I don’t think the two sendings-off had any bearing on the result because we missed chances when they had 11 players on the pitch.
“Tidswell could have had a hat-trick but he looked himself for 90 minutes.”
Striker Jordan Hempenstall should be back in the squad for Saturday’s trip to Derbyshire.
