Spalding manager Pat Rayment has confirmed this morning that goal machine Mark Jones has signed for the Tulips.
The Thurlby-based striker will train with his new team mates tonight and will be included in Saturday’s squad to face Hornchurch at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field.
Rayment told spaldingtoday: “I can’t thank the board enough for allowing me to make this excellent signing.
“I am in a position to push this team on and he won’t be our last acquisition this season.”
Rayment confirmed the former Boston United and Deeping player has been signed on contract.
4PM WEDNESDAY: Tulips close to signing striker
Goal ace Mark Jones could be a Spalding United player in time for their FA Cup clash at home to AFC Hornchurch.
Conference North outfit Gainsborough Trinity have accepted a bid for the former Deeping Rangers and Boston United hit man and he has agreed personal terms with the Tulips.
Spalding supremo Pat Rayment is now just waiting for the paperwork to be finalised.
“He will be an excellent signing who will add quality to the squad,” said Rayment this afternoon (Wednesday). “He can destroy defences.”
