Spalding United manager Pat Rayment is delighted to have brought goal-scoring midfielder Jack McGovern back to the club.
The Tulips have taken advantage of Evo-Stik League Premier Division outfit Grantham Town’s financial problems to re-sign the former Lincoln City apprentice, and he goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s FA Trophy trip to Leek Town.
Rayment believes the former Coalville and King’s Lynn player will prove to be an excellent addition to the ranks and, with Boston Town winger Matt Kennedy joining 24 hours earlier, it’s been a good week for the Tulips boss.
He said: “I believe Jack is better than any other midfielder we have at the club so he goes straight into the squad. He was here two years ago but he wanted to play at a higher level, and he is a class player who certainly is good enough to play higher.
“It’s a great signing for us and gives us a big boost going into such a big game.”
