Holbeach United boss Darren Jarvis was full of praise for Jamie Clarke’s commitment and loyalty after leading them to victory on Saturday.
Tigers captain Clarke got the equaliser before Andrew Tidswell and Matt Warfield sealed a 3-1 home win against Wellingborough Town.
Jarvis said: “I think the key for us was the work-rate and commitment which I’d asked for because the performance was definitely there.
“The togetherness was brilliant and we had enough chances to win three games.
“As a manger you don’t worry as long as you are creating chances. In the end our quality came through.
“At 1-0 down we showed all the spirit and character that we needed to get back into the game.
“We got our just rewards but even if we hadn’t taken three points I wouldn’t have been critical.
“Clarke was a credit to himself by working hard and getting that goal was a big relief.
“His attitude has been a massive help to myself and I can’t speak highly enough of him. He has shown great loyalty to stay here because he loves the club.
“I think he wanted to take the penalty for his confidence but Warfield put himself forward and the captain let him take it.”
