Scott Coupland continued his superb start to the season with Deeping Rangers by making a happy return to his former club on Wednesday night.

The former Sleaford Town skipper struck twice before the break to set up Michael Goode’s first away win as manager.

Coupland scored after 15 and 34 minutes to take his tally to seven goals in five games since his summer switch.

Jack Cotton’s close-range header made it 3-0 to Deeping after 69 minutes as they bounced back from last weekend’s defeat at Oadby Town.

Meanwhile, Holbeach United edged out Harrowby United 2-0 at Carter’s Park.

They got a dream start thanks to a third-minute goal from Stacy Cartwright following Andrew Tidswell’s free-kick.

The Tigers had to wait until eight minutes from full-time for Gary King to double the advantage.

Holbeach and Deeping are both back in action on Saturday in the Emirates FA Cup preliminary round.

The Tigers head to UCL Premier Division rivals Wisbech Town while Deeping are at home to Dereham Town of the Ryman League Division One North.
