Spalding United have added two youth-team players from Doncaster Rovers on work experience.
Left-back Josh Barker and attacking midfielder Lloyd Henderson will both go into the Tulips’ squad at home to Leek Town tomorrow.
Boss Dave Frecklington said: “They are second-year scholars who both trained very well with us last night and looked really sharp.
“They bring a lot of energy and they will learn from being here to see what we are all about.
“It’s a good fit for all of us through my contact with John Schofield at Doncaster’s academy. I was his boot boy as a youth-team player at Lincoln City so I must have done a good job!
“Work experience for these lads means they can play for Doncaster but they will also gain experience with us.
We’ve got more options now which is a real boost and gives us more stability in the squad.Dave Frecklington
“Doncaster don’t have a game this weekend so they will be involved in our squad. This is a good relationship for us to build on.
“This week we’ve already brought in Danny Durkin and Conor Higginson who looked good in training last night.
“So we’ve got more options now which is a real boost and gives us more stability in the squad.”
Nathan Whitehead will be serving a suspension while Neal Spafford, Matt Varley, Brad Barraclough and Chris Hamilton are all ruled out through injury.
Physiotherapist Richard Lavery has also joined the Tulips’ backroom staff.
