Boss Tom Roberts wants to reward Holbeach United’s supporters on Saturday.
After two successive home defeats, the Tigers can pay back their fans by ending the only unbeaten record in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League’s Premier Division.
Holbeach are below Sileby Rangers on goal-difference but the Northampton side have two games in hand with a chance to close the gap on league leaders Peterborough Sports.
Roberts said: “We needed this midweek break because a few lads have been playing through the pain barrier.
“We’ve had suspensions and injuries to leave us a bit low on numbers.
“We know what it feels like to lose your unbeaten run so we’ll be looking to take that record off Sileby.
“At home, we owe the fans because our performances have not been great recently. So it’s about time we gave them something back.
“We’ve got a lot of big games coming up and I’m sure the players will find it easy to get themselves up for those fixtures.”
Following home defeats to Yaxley and Desborough Town, the Tigers won 3-2 at Leicester Nirvana on Saturday after last season’s runners-up had cancelled out an own-goal and Jake Clitheroe’s strike.
Roberts added: “It’s a hard place to go, we changed our formation and got the job done with a professional performance.
“The first four goals could have been prevented but we went in front for a third time through Tommy Treacher and Nirvana went down to 10 men after a bad tackle.”
Striker Josh Ford is back in the squad on Saturday after serving a ban.
