Spalding United could have two new signings before their next home game.
Tulips manager Dave Frecklington is hoping to strengthen the squad before Leek Town’s visit to the Sir Halley Stewart Field a week on Saturday.
We need to have the right characters and I’m hoping we can add them to the squad before the end of next week.Dave Frecklington
He said: “We’re looking to bring in a midfielder and a forward due to the injuries to Brad Barraclough and Chris Hamilton who are both going to miss the next few weeks.
“But it’s quite tough to get those deals over the line at this time of the season.
“Other people see we are on top of the league with an unbeaten record and think we have a massive budget.
“We’ve got to bring in the right people who will add to the team spirit and quality which is already here.
“We need to have the right characters and I’m hoping we can add them to the squad before the end of next week.”
Barraclough is wearing a protective boot after tests showed a torn ligament in his foot.
Hamilton is also likely to be ruled out of action until early November with a thigh problem.
Striker Rees Longville-Daley is looking for a loan move closer to his London home.
Frecklington explained: “We want him to play a bigger part for us but he needs to get more games and it’s tough for him when he is travelling from London to Spalding or the away games.”
Physiotherapist Sam Seal, meanwhile, has left the club.
