Holbeach United’s strike-force have been urged to relax in front of goal.
The Tigers missed a series of chances as they dropped two points in last Saturday’s home game against 10-man Wellingborough Town.
They dropped to fourth in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League’s Premier Division as title rivals Yaxley, Wisbech Town and Newport Pagnell Town each scored six times.
Assistant manager Darren Edey said: “The key message this weekend is to relax a bit and play with a smile on our faces.
“We are creating chances and we need to put more in the back of the net.
“Lewis Leckie and Will Bird are going through spells without scoring.
We need to get back to scoring goals regularly like we did earlier in the season.Darren Edey
“But we have no doubts about their ability along with Charley Sanders. We might look at playing three up front.
“I was a striker so I know it becomes harder to score if you put yourself under pressure.”
Holbeach face a trip to ON Chenecks on Saturday.
The Tigers are four points behind league leaders Yaxley with four games in hand.
But they must get back to winning ways following the 1-1 draw with Wellingborough last weekend.
ON Chenecks have won five out of six games in 2018 – losing at home to Wisbech Town.
Edey added: “It’s tight at the top but we’ve got to stop worrying about everyone else.
“We need to get back to scoring goals regularly like we did earlier in the season.
“We have to work harder when things are not going our way.
“ON Chenecks have picked up their form recently so we need to make sure that we go there with the right attitude.”
Leckie’s penalty was soon followed by another goal for the striker as the Tigers won 3-0 at home to ON Chenecks in August. Bird was also on target.
Matt Warfield is suspended on Saturday after being sent off against Wellingborough.
Boss Seb Hayes is serving a stadium ban.
George Zuerner should be available after a cut eye ruled him out last weekend.
Edey explained: “He was touch and go but I made the decision in the changing room when he wanted a fitness test.
“I took responsibility as I didn’t want to take the risk. But we probably missed him more than we thought we may have done.”
