Spalding United are looking for a new management team after the departures of boss Marcus Ebdon and assistant Danny Hussey.

The announcement was made after Saturday’s final game of the season - a 1-1 draw at home to Leek Town.

Ebdon and Hussey decided to step down due to work and family commitments as the Tulips made it clear they leave the Sir Halley Stewart Field on good terms.

Spalding finished in the bottom half of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South having just missed out on a play-off place 12 months ago.

The Tulips’ statement read: “After conversations with the club, Marcus Ebdon along with Danny Hussey have today decided to step down from the management team due to work and family commitments.

“They both felt they could not give the club the appropriate time required for Spalding United to remain a successful Step Four club.

“The club wishes to make clear Marcus and Danny leave us on good terms and will always remain a respected and significant duo at Spalding United.

“Their legacy at the Sir Halley Stewart Field has long been guaranteed and they will always be warmly welcomed back.

“The club’s focus is now on ensuring our talented squad reaches its potential with local youth emerging through. There will be no further comment until a new appointment is made.”

Applications are invited for the manager’s position. All interested candidates should provide a CV along with a covering letter to support their application by May 9 for interview.
