Darren Jarvis says Holbeach number one Ricky Drury is “the best goalkeeper in the league – simple as that”.

Drury kept another clean sheet as the Tigers extended their unbeaten record in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League’s Premier Division since the opening day of the season.

Jarvis said: “Goalkeepers are as important as strikers, if not more than.

“He has been fantastic all season and he produced two great saves again on Saturday.

“If there is a better goalkeeper in this league then I haven’t seen him. We are very lucky to have him here.”

However, Jarvis felt that Holbeach dropped two points after missing chances away to his former club Peterborough Northern Star.

The Tigers boss added: “They are in good form so it looks like a good point.

“But for 65 to 70 minutes we had more chances than they did.

“If we had taken any of them, it would have changed the game.

“Instead we came under pressure in the last 15 minutes and in the end we could have gone away with no points.

“Another clean sheet keeps the run going but we are still disappointed because we are a team of winners.

“One or two lads held their hands up and admitted they should have hit the target.

“But we’ve got to move on now and if we win at Sleaford Town on Wednesday then four points out of six would be a decent return from two away games.

“It’s going to be a hard game. They will be strong and up for it.”

Holbeach will head to Kirby Muxloe in the UCL Knockout Cup on November 14 after last week’s 4-0 home win over Blackstones.
