Deeping Rangers bounced back from a midweek defeat by producing a dominant display.
An early through-ball from Dan Flack sent Jezz Goldson-Williams towards goal but he was tripped with the ball falling for Scott Coupland whose effort brought a smart save from Aaron Bellairs.
Wellingborough Town’s Dean Stewart reacted quickly to flash his drive over the bar.
Rangers took the lead on 10 minutes. Goldson-Williams won the ball from Steven Botterill to cross and find Coupland to head wide of Bellairs and into the corner of the net.
The Doughboys’ Wes Emery ran at the home defence, skipped a couple of challenges and forced a save from home custodian Danny Bircham.
Deeping doubled their lead on 21 minutes as skipper David Burton-Jones played in Goldson-Williams 18 yards out. He took a touch and placed the ball wide of the stranded Bellairs.
Emery’s short corner to Justin Downing caught Deeping napping as he found Dan Uche free to curl a shot wide of the upright.
Flack played Goldson-Williams in behind the visiting defenders where his shot was well cleared by Joe Rich from the line.
With half-time virtually there, Bircham pulled off a top-drawer save to tip out Emery’s 25-yard free-kick from the top corner.
Deeping increased their lead within a minute of the restart as Luke Avis played a defence-splitting ball that Goldson-Williams collected. He rounded Bellairs, turned and fired into the far corner and within four minutes they had extended their lead further.
From defending a free-kick, Burton-Jones released Jason Kilbride midway in his own half. He sprinted towards goal and skipped past Rich’s challenge into the box to drive into the far corner.
The Doughboys got a consolation goal after 80 minutes as Nathan Burrows blasted past Bircham.
Deeping completed the scoring on 87 minutes when Luke Hunnings sent a clearance to fellow substitute Will Bird who fired home off the underside of the bar.
