Holbeach United cruised through to the next round of the UCL Knockout Cup this afternoon, but Spalding United lost in the FA Trophy and Bourne and Deeping bowed out of the FA Vase.

In a thrilling encounter at Newcastle Town, Spalding took an early lead through Mitch Griffiths. The home side pulled back to 1-1, Spalding took the lead again but after just 15 minutes it was 2-2. Town took the lead for the first time and then went 4-2 up before the break. There were less goals in the second half with Town running out 5-4 winners.

Josh Ford was a hat-trick hero as Holbeach breezed past Bugbrooke St Michaels 4-1 in the United Counties League knockout cup. Andrew Tidswell notched the other goal from a sublime free kick.

In the FA Vase Bourne acquitted themselves well at Ridgeons League premier division side Swaffham Town, going down 2-1. Beach scored the Bourne goal.

And it was heartache for Deeping, who went down to a 1-0 defeat at Ridgeons League premier division side Great Yarmouth, conceding in the last minute of extra time.
