Holbeach United manager Darren Jarvis believes new signing Charley Sanders can lead the way in their bid to regain top form.

The former Boston United striker had a key role in both goals as the Tigers ended a poor run by beating Newport Pagnell Town on Saturday.

Sanders scored against Holbeach last month when Lee Dube’s hat-trick saw off Huntingdon Town.

Now he is lining up with Tigers captain Jamie Clarke and looking to create more chances for the likes of Andrew Tidswell.

Jarvis said: “As Charley gets fitter, he will come into his own.

“We want to play football the right way and people will just think he’s a big lad up front. He’s very important to us, although at times you have to play the percentages to win games.”

Meanwhile, Jarvis suffered his first home defeat as Holbeach boss when Sleaford Town skipper Scott Coupland fired into the top corner with 15 minutes to go on Wednesday night.

The Tigers will be aiming to bounce back at home to Wellingborough Town this weekend.
