Holbeach United have acted quickly to replace John Chand, with former Sleaford boss Glen Maddison confirmed this evening as the Tigers’ new manager.

Maddison steps into a hot seat only vacated by title-winning Chand on Monday evening. He faces a rebuilding job with several Holbeach players departing since their championship triumph.

Jamie Stevens, Jonny Allen and Adam Jackson have all joined local rivals Spalding, Andy Toyne has moved on to Lincoln United and Roh Hughes has been snapped up by Yaxley.

Maddison, who was sacked by Sleaford with just three games of the season remaining, has also managed Horncastle United and Boston United Reserves. He will be assisted by former Sleaford player Mick Bishop.

Assistant manager Dean Elston and coach Phil Barnes have stepped down from their roles, although both will stay at Carter’s Park, as vice chairman and youth chairman respectively.
