The Deepings School’s under-12 boys team claimed silverware in their first year together when they won the Lincolnshire Schools FA County Cup.
The Year 7 pupils travelled to Lincoln for the final against Branston Community College and ran out 6-1 winners.
After having the better chances in the first quarter of the match, Deepings fell behind during Branston’s best spell of the game.
Deepings swiftly levelled through Keelan Walker’s header.
A strike by Archie Rickards and a second by Walker had Deepings 3-1 up at half-time.
Adam Blackbird’s penalty just after half-time effectively sealed the win.
Walker completed his hat-trick with a lovely dink over the keeper and Rickards made it 6-1 as he rounded off a fine team move.
The victory came just four days after eight of the squad had won the Lincs FA Futsal School Games in Grantham. They will now represent the school at the regional games later this year.
