More than 750 children took part in the first Holbeach United Summer 6ixes Tournament at the new Community Sports Academy last weekend.

A total of 76 teams were in action with under-7, 9 and 11s on Saturday plus under-8, 10 and 12s on Sunday.

Age group winners were Holbeach (under-9), Feeder Soccer School (under-10), Baston (under-11) and Feeder Soccer School (under-12). Under-7 and 8 were non-competitive.

Teams came from across Lincolnshire plus Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Norfolk with group stages followed by semi-finals and finals.

Academy vice-chairman and trustee Stuart Clark said: “The feedback has been great and we are already looking at dates for next year. There is potential to expand this tournament with older age groups.”
