Moulton Harrox were given a hammering by championship rivals Netherton United in Saturday’s semi-final at Broad Lane.
The top two met in the President Premier Shield – but the home team’s hopes were all over just past the midway stage of the first half.
Harrox went behind after only eight minutes when Jake Cawthorne was booked for a pull on Tommy Randall’s shirt, allowing Callum Madigan to convert from the spot.
Marcus Parry’s penalty claim was rejected at the other end but Dan Fountain wasted a golden chance to double the advantage.
However, a quickfire double put Netherton in full control.
Zack Fisher made it 2-0 and set up strike partner Karl Gibbs for another clinical finish past Wayne Wilding.
A minute later, it could have been even worse for Wilding as a poor kick went to Fisher who chipped the ball wide of the empty net.
Fisher completed his treble in the second half, though, after Ryan Wood made it 4-0 and Joe Townsend pulled one back.
After 11 successive wins, this was Moulton’s first defeat since early November.
In the final, Netherton will meet Thorney who came from 2-0 down at half-time to beat Holbeach United’s reserves 3-2 in extra-time.
