Tigers hot prospect Jordan Keeble underlined his growing reputation with a hat-trick as Holbeach United Under 16s ended their title-winning season by beating Wasps 5-1.

After being confirmed as Peterborough and District League Division Three champions, Holbeach proved their worth with a comfortable win over a Wasps side that couldn’t better their fourth place finish.

It took the Tigers 25 minutes to break the deadlock through Keeble and within another ten minutes, he struck twice more to give himself a hat-trick and Holbeach a 3-0 advantage at half time.

But the scoring wasn’t over yet as Keeble netted again
midway through the second half, his 63rd goal of the

Wasps scored a consolation goal, the only time Harry Sutherland was to be beaten in the Holbeach goal, before Glen Woolmore made it five for the Tigers.

The win brought to an end a great season for Holbeach United Under 16s after winning the league and reaching the semi-finals of the cup as well.

Meanwhile, Holbeach United Under 13s earned themselves a trip to London Road, Peterborough, in May after beating Grantham Town Under 13s 3-2 in the semi-finals of the cup.

The Tigers were underdogs because of their position near the foot of the league table, while Grantham are flying high.

However the Tigers didn’t let this faze them and they took the lead with a well-worked team goal as Luke Cutts fed Liam Scales who nudged a pass to Liam Sandall before he finished coolly inside the six-yard area.

Defensive resilience kept Grantham at bay for the rest of the half but the favourites scored early in the second period from a well-worked corner.

Holbeach continued to dominate though and they re-took the lead through Harry Collishaw who netted calmly inside the box after another delightful move.

The Tigers continued to press before Grantham managed an equaliser to take the game into extra time.

Holbeach eventually sealed the tie as extra time drew to a close when Liam Scales found Liam Sandall with a pinpoint 20-yard pass and Sandall scored at the second attempt after his first effort rebounded off the Grantham keeper.

Almost immediately after Sandall’s winner, the referee blew for full time to confirm a remarkable cup victory for the young Tigers after a tough few weeks.

Every player gave it their all and the giant-killing win was thoroughly deserved.

Finally, Holbeach United Under 12s ended their season with a 3-2 defeat to Arsenal SS Under 12s at Carter’s Park.

Mikey Bailey and Josh Balding were the Tigers’ scorers.
