JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Young Tulips secure semi spot

Have your say

Spalding United U/11s eased into the semi-finals of the PFA Junior Cup with a 4-1 home win over Whittlesey.

With Caleb Ansell superb in goal at the other end, Toby Noakes’ header and a long-range Samuel Burden free-kick put the Tulips 2-0 ahead.

Whittlesey pulled one back early in the second half, but Sam Bayly and Harry Loveridge wrapped up the win.

• Pinchbeck United U/13s continued their blistering form with a 6-3 beating of Yaxley.

Jack Brown, Jacko Withers (2), Ben Lawrence (2) and Elliott Ramsden got the goals.

United’s passing football was top notch as they proved they can match anyone in the division.

• Holbeach United U/15s bounced back from last week’s loss with a 3-1 home success over Young Dons.

Declan Earth put the Tigers ahead – and although Dons levelled, Dexter Facey scored his first of the season to make it 2-1 to Holbeach at the break. A great keeping display from Adam Groves kept Dons at bay in the second half, before Earth rounded off the win.

• Spalding United U/13s produced a great team performance to win 4-2 at Thorney Colts.

Samuel East’s super strike and a Keegan Waters effort put the Tulips 2-0 up at half time.

Thorney notched twice to level, but a superb Jake Hollis goal and a clincher from Brandon Hall wrapped up the win.

• Young Dons U/15s Blue are in fourth place at Christmas following a 5-3 away triumph over Boston United Community.

A brace from the prolific Meady saw them go in 2-1 ahead at half time, before Howard made it 3-1 from the penalty spot.

A sweeping team move allowed Meady to wrap up his treble soon after, only for Boston to pull another back.

Castle then clinched it for Dons with a cheeky effort, before a late Boston consolation.
