TYDD St Mary Football Club held their first-ever youth football open day last Saturday.
It was very well attended, with over 35 boys of girls from a wide age range attending.
The club had five coaches helping put the children through their paces.
Tydd’s open day comes in the wake of a £5,000 ‘Grow the Game’ grant awarded by the Football Foundation.
Club secretary Carl Wilson, said: “The day was a complete success and everyone enjoyed themselves. It was great to see the community coming together but more importantly it was good to see the kids having fun.”
The next step for the youth development at Tydd will be to arrange more coaching sessions, with the view to forming development squads in two age ranges for this year and adding a third team in the second year.
