JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Bourne’s blue boys are just champion

Have your say

Bourne Town Juniors Blue under-14s have finished as champions of the Peterborough and District Junior Alliance League Division Three after a thrilling season.

Under the guidance of manager Kevin Sleight and assistant boss Simon Booth, the team finished top of their table having won 15 out of 18 games, conceding only 14 goals along the way.

This included a run of ten consecutive league wins – and they were crowned champions with a 2-0 home win over Ketton on the final day of the season, when a draw would have sufficed.

That saw them finish three points ahead of their nearest rivals Crowland Town.

The team, sponsored by Spalding Round Table, comprises: Sam Booth, Scott Britton, Harry Brownsword, Kane Chapman, Matthew Cotter, Kamil Danielewski, Evan Donaldson, Cavan Gaunt, Rohan Hornsby, Billy Osborn, Charlie Sleight, Jack Sparks, Anthony Wilson and James Youds.
