Jake Gibson should be fit for the start of Holbeach United’s league campaign.
The winger limped off with ankle ligament damage at the end of Saturday’s friendly against Grantham Town when the Tigers lost a penalty shoot-out following the 2-2 draw.
But joint-manager John Chand revealed: “The injury is not as bad as we first thought.
“We will leave him out of action over the next week but he should be back for the first league game.”
Gibson headed Holbeach’s second goal on Saturday after Ash Fuller cancelled out the Gingerbreads’ early opener.
The Tigers are at home to Wyberton tonight.
